1. Financial, Legal & Administrative Management
Handling the paperwork, bills, and financial details so families can focus on what matters most—time with their loved one. I will help you keep everything organized and secure.
- Review and organize bills
- Set up online bill pay
- Assist in budget planning
- Coordination of paying property taxes
- Help prepare or organize documents for taxes, insurance claims, or benefits applications
- Assistance in setting up secure access to important websites such as SSA.gov, Medicare.gov and VA.gov
- Assistance in setting up Social Security payee if needed
- Coordinate credit freezes or fraud alerts
- Help organize and create a secure central point of access for all important documents (POA, advance directives, DNR, medication list, ID, Medicare card, SS number, passwords, various accounts, will, deeds, DD214, or other VA documentation)
2. Home & Household Management
Keeping the senior’s living environment safe, comfortable, and well-maintained while simplifying daily household tasks and errands.
- Assist in scheduling home maintenance (septic treatment/emptying, drain treatment, dryer vent, AC filters and annual maintenance, heater annual maintenance, small repairs/handyman referral/coordination, lawncare/tree maintenance, hot water heater flush, water softener maintenance, coordinate winterizing when temps go below freezing, changing of smoke detector batteries, home monitoring battery replacement)
- Set up and monitor cleaning services
- Assistance in setting up recurring deliveries for frequently needed items
- Assistance in pet care (schedule grooming, vet appointments, vaccinations)
- Assistance sorting through mail during weekly check-in
- Assist with meal planning and grocery lists
- Place weekly grocery order for pick up or delivery
- Coordinate/ schedule mobile manicure/ pedicure or hair cuts
3. Healthcare Coordination & Medical Support
Coordinating medical care, appointments, and resources to ensure your loved one receives timely, appropriate, and well-managed healthcare.
- Assistance in scheduling doctor appointments
- Assistance in prescription refills
- Arrange transportation to appointments
- Prepare questions for doctor visits
- Research and help select mobility aids
- Arrange home safety evaluations by occupational therapists or senior service organizations
- Coordinate with home health agencies, Meals on Wheels, or adult day care programs
- Complete paperwork for care services
- Assistance in finding available benefits (VA, etc.)
- Ensure everyone knows the preferred hospital in case of emergency
- Assist in selecting/locating rehab, coordinate transition
- Check in on the senior in rehab
- Hospice care coordination
- Coordinate delivery of medical equipment
- Share resources for the family caregiver on specific skills (e.g., safe transfers, dementia care techniques)
4. Care Coordination, Safety & Monitoring
Providing proactive oversight, safety measures, and coordination of professional services to prevent crises and ensure smooth daily care.
- Coordinate professional in-home support: Research, interview, hire, screen, and monitor in-home aides, companions, or other service providers from trusted providers
- Assistance in setting up home monitoring
- Create a shared care calendar (Google) for appointments, medication times, and visits
- Weekly physical check-in
- Emergency preparedness: Maintain a contact list with neighbors, doctors, and Adult Protective Services, plus create a “what to do if…” folder for falls, power outages, or confusion episodes
- Track and support subtle changes
- Serve as a central point of contact for neighbors, friends, or community resources
5. Emotional, Social & Family Support
Enhancing quality of life through meaningful connection, emotional support, family coordination, and activities that bring joy and purpose.
- Listen and provide emotional support or connect the senior/family with support groups/counseling
- Schedule and coordinate family visits, phone calls, or video chats with relatives
- Organize a weekly family communication
- Help document final wishes and ensure family communication
- Always prioritize the aging family member’s dignity, independence, and preferences
- Help set up and use technology for staying connected (FaceTime, email, simple tablets)
